The
immigration authorities and customs all
over the world are facing today very hard work:
control people thoroughly to combat international
terrorism and still make sure the process goes
rapidly. Checking-in people in airports, seaports
or border crossings are not an easy task. It is
long, tedious and annoying, even more for residents
or frequent business travellers.

New
ID passports with electronic data are or are in
the way to be introduced soon in a lot of countries.
Security will be reinforced but control time will
increase in proportion with the number of checks
Automated border control lanes
upgraded with now accurate identification technologies
(fingerprints, iris recognition, etc.) will multiply
the access desks and accelerate immigration processing
time. Workload is reduced allowing additional
scrutiny to be focused were needed. Travellers
benefit from fast lanes and can therefore travel
comfortably and with a higher sense of security.
